Communications

ByPete June 26, 2026June 26, 2026

Some of us ride with other groups of riders that ride older Harley Davidson touring models and utilize the CB for communication. The CB on a HD has a lot going for it, especially with Push to talk (PTT). However, if you have people with new HD touring models or with other motorcyles without a CB, then mesh is definitely the way to go. We ride with Sena 50s and 60s comms (the 60s are set to 50s compatability). Mesh has a lot going for it, but one feature that really appeals to us is the ability on the 50s and 60s to mute the mic. That allows us to cut the wind noise when no one is talking. It is not quite as convenient as PTT since you don’t really know if your mic is on or off without toggling it, but you can absolutely stop the wind noise.
